17 suspected OWI violators arrested in Milwaukee

Authorities in Milwaukee recently apprehended 17 individuals for suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants (OWI), a June 1 article of CBS 58 reported.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) during the Memorial Day long weekend increased their visibility on major roads and in other areas in an attempt to prevent crime and disorder. The MCSO also rolled out a campaign to look for intoxicated drivers from late Friday night until Tuesday morning. Five of the 17 drivers arrested in the “Operation Drive Sober” campaign reportedly had several previous OWI violations. Reports revealed that the arrested drivers had an average blood alcohol concentration level (BAC) of 0.14 percent. Many of those who were arrested were observed to be driving erratically.
