Kenosha hit-and-run suspect charged

A driver who fled the scene of an accident after colliding with another vehicle in Racine and causing injuries has been charged with felony hit-and-run, according to an article from The Journal Times.

Reports said the charge was filed against Kenosha resident Melvin Muckeray, 32. On December 24, Muckeray was involved in a two-vehicle accident at 12th Street and Racine Street. A criminal complaint revealed that Muckeray was driving his vehicle at around 8:00 p.m. without headlights when he struck an oncoming vehicle whose driver failed to see him. The driver of the other vehicle, whose name was withheld, sustained injuries but refused to be taken to a hospital. Muckeray, who was driving with a suspended license, may face up to nine months of imprisonment if found guilty of the charge.
