Hit-and-run driver arrested in Racine

A driver was arrested in Racine County by police on January 2 after fleeing the scene of a rear-end collision. Sergeant David Stroupe of the Mount Pleasant Police stated that a Milwaukee man crashed  into the back portion of another vehicle while driving on Highway 20 at around 12:30 p.m. The driver that caused the collision then attempted to escape the crash scene.

A witness to the collision pursued the driver for several miles until the offender stopped his vehicle and authorities were able to apprehend him. Though no one was reportedly injured in the accident, both vehicles sustained damage. Charges are expected to be filed against the hit-and-run driver who is currently booked at the Racine County Jail.
