Three injured in Racine accident involving garbage truck

At least three people sustained injuries in Racine and an apartment complex was damaged after a garbage truck and a car collided, Fox 6 reported on April 23.

According to police, the accident happened at 7:00 a.m. on 16th Street when a westbound garbage truck crashed into a car turning left on Flett Avenue. The garbage truck veered to avoid a tree and eventually struck the lower portion of an apartment complex, causing damage to the building. The truck driver and the two individuals inside the car were transported to a hospital. Racine police confirmed that no one died in the accident. It took hours for crews to remove all the garbage that spilled around the accident area.
