Thousands of 2014 GM mid-sized sedans recalled

Nearly 10,000 mid-sized General Motors (GM) sedans were recalled due to a possible braking malfunction that may occur, an article by CBS News reported on May 16.

Reports said the brake rotors that were supposed to be installed in the rear portion of 2014 Chevrolet Malibu and Buick Lacrosse vehicles were placed in the front wheels. Therefore, the rotors in the front are thinner than they should be. Operators of the affected sedans may experience sudden braking failure in the front wheels due to braking pads that wear easily. GM stated that no incidents of injuries involving the recalled vehicles had been reported. Starting May 29, owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by dealers of the free repair offered for their vehicles.
