The SUV driver involved in an accident that killed a motorcyclist was recently charged in Waukesha County Court.

Edi Gomez, 23, was charged with homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and knowingly driving while suspended. These charges relate to the fatal accident that occurred on the morning of October 11.

Gomez was trying to pass James Solveson, 58, when he hit the back of Solveson’s motorcycle near New Berlin’s Mill Creek Trail. Solveson was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the scene. Gomez was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa after his SUV rolled three times.
