800k recent models of Toyota Camry, Avalon, and Venza vehicles recalled

Automaker Toyota is recalling over 800,000 recent models of the Camry, Avalon, Camry Hybrid, Avalon Hybrid, and the Venza SUVs due to a leaking problem in the A/C condenser that could lead to airbag malfunctions, a report from Toyota stated on October 17.

According to reports, a leak in the air conditioning condenser of the recalled vehicles may cause a short circuit in the airbag control system that could lead to either accidental deployment of the airbag or disable it. Incidents of injuries and unintentional launches of the airbags have already been linked to the recalled vehicles.

Toyota said it will resolve the issue by fixing the leak and putting a cover on the condenser of the affected vehicles.

Injuries caused by a defective vehicle can cause serious repercussions for a victim and his or her family. In this situation, however, the victim may be owed compensation from the manufacturer.
