Man pleads guilty to DUI after confessing online

The man who recently confessed online on YouTube to accidentally killing a man in a car crash months ago pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide on Wednesday, September 18.

Matthew Cordle, who lives on Powell, faces a sentence of between 2 and 8 ½ years of imprisonment after his recent hearing at Franklin County Court where he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol when he killed Vincent Canzani on the night of June 22. Cordle was quiet spoken during the hearing, in which his bond was also revoked.

Cordle uploaded a 3 ½ minute video clip weeks ago on YouTube, confessing to killing Canzani in a wrong-way crash after he got drunk with his friends. He wrapped up the video by advocating for others to avoid drinking and driving.
