Rapper charged with DUI

Rap artist DMX was charged with driving under the influence on Thursday, July 25, the South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed in a July 30 report.

According to reports, DMX, whose name is really Earl Simmons, was pulled over after he was seen driving “erratically” at around 11 p.m. Simmons was brought to Greenville Detention Center after he failed a field sobriety test given to him. Aside from DUI charges, Simmons was also charged with driving without a license and not wearing a seat belt.

After allegations against the rapper-actor were initially denied by publicist Domenick Nati, another statement from Nati confirmed DMX was arrested but was immediately released after passing a breathalyzer test.
