Over one million BMW vehicles recalled worldwide

BMW AG, the largest maker of premium cars in the world, has announced the recall of 1.3 million vehicles across the world. In the U.S. alone, there have been 386,000 vehicles affected.

According to statement made by BMW officials, a possible faulty cable cover could cause an issue in the electrical system. “This can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire.”

The car company has written letters to car owners telling them of the issue and asking them to bring their vehicles into the dealership in order to have the inspected. The repair will take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.  No injuries have been reported at this time.
