Washburn County accident leaves three people injured

Three people were injured in a Washburn County crash on Sunday.

According to the county sheriff’s department, the accident occurred on Highway 70 as a man and his wife were traveling eastbound down the roadway and their car drifted over the center line.

Their vehicle then struck another car head-on, leaving two people trapped in their vehicles. Emergency crews arrived at the scene in order to extricate the victims from two separate vehicles and they were transported to the hospital by helicopter in order to be treated. The investigation into the crash is continuing at this time.
