Increase in Wisconsin travelers this Thanksgiving

Although gas prices are on the rise and the economy is poor, a four percent increase in holiday travelers is expected this Thanksgiving weekend.

The weekend, which ranges from Wednesday through Sunday is one of the busiest times to be on the road in Wisconsin. AAA released information regarding the Wisconsin travelers and estimated that 853,000 people will be traveling for Thanksgiving and 90 percent of those people will be using a motor vehicle as their means of transportation.

Drivers in Wisconsin can expect to fill up their car at $3.36 a gallon and on average are expected to spend $554 per family to get to and from their desired location. Traffic will be heavy and accidents may occur if caution isn’t used by drivers.
