Woodruff woman set to serve 5 year prison sentence for vehicular homicide

On Tuesday, 27 year-old Nora Johnson of Woodruff was sentenced to serve 5 years in prison for vehicular homicide.  This sentence stems from a 2010 five vehicle crash that killed Fremont resident, Beverly Drews, who was 73 at the time.  Johnson could have been sentenced for a maximum of 25 years after being charged on 8 criminal counts, but Judge Mark Mangerson could not justify the maximum sentence in this case, and gave Johnson 5 years.  After completing the sentence, Johnson will continue to be under supervision for another 6 years.

Johnson was driving under the influence of prescription and illegal drugs at the time of the 2010 crash.
