Racine motorcyclist dies from injuries following crash

A motorcyclist died following a Racine car accident late last week.

According to Mount Pleasant police, the motorcyclist crashed into the back of a Honda Civic as he was heading east on Durand Avenue. Sturtevant police, Mount Pleasant police, and the Racine County Sheriff all responded to the scene to control traffic in the area and investigate the incident. The driver of the Civic escaped the accident with no injuries.

The motorcyclist’s passenger, who sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident, was transported to Wheaton Franciscan for treatment. The 55-year-old motorcyclist suffered burns among other injuries when he was trapped underneath the bike as it caught on fire. He was transported to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life, but sadly passed away that evening.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.
