Woman Injured in Racine Truck Accident

A woman was injured when a cement truck crashed into her home Tuesday.

According to officials with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of the cement truck was traveling north on Rochester Street and turning right when the accident occurred. Deputies say the left front tire of the truck blew out, causing the driver to lose control and the truck swerved off the road and sideswiped a home in the 300 block.

A woman inside the home was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital. Sandi Bieneman, who witnessed the accident, does not believe the woman suffered serious injuries.

“I don’t think she’s critically injured, because she was sitting up in the back of the ambulance,” Bieneman said.

The driver of the cement truck was also injured in the accident. No information on the nature or extent of his injuries has been released.
