Caledonia Man Injured in Racine Motorcycle Accident

A man from Caledonia was injured in a Racine motorcycle accident Sunday.

According to officials with the Racine Police Department, the accident occurred shortly after 6:15 p.m. Sunday on the 700 block of Washington Avenue. Police say 49 year-old Ty Steinmetz was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Washington Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle. The motorcycle crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck a car head-on.

According to the police accident report, Steinmetz was ejected from his motorcycle in the accident. He was transported by ground ambulance to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment. No information on the nature or extent of his injuries was available.

No one in the car was injured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Racine Police Department.
