Burlington man killed in pedestrian accident

A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed in Racine County late at night on New Year’s Day.

The man, 50 year-old Richard Carroll, was walking along the highway around 11 p.m. in Burlington when he was hit by an oncoming car. The driver was a 20 year-old woman from Genoa City.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
