2 Injured in Racine Rollover Accident

A two Racine-residents were injured in a rollover car accident Thursday night, police say.

According to officials with the Mount Pleasant Police Department, 24 year-old Racine-resident Sally A. Derga was injured in a car accident at the intersection of highways C and 31 shortly before 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Police say Derga was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Highway 31 from eastbound Highway C, when she was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by 21 year-old Nickendrick L. Jackson, also of Racine.

Police say one of the vehicle rolled in the accident and South Shore firefighters had to extricate a driver from the wreckage. Both Dergan and Nickendrick were transported by ambulance to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital. Their injuries were described by police as “non-life-threatening.”
