Kenosha Woman Injured in Racine Auto Accident

A Racine auto accident sent a Kenosha woman to the hospital Tuesday night.

According to officials with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred shortly after 12:15 p.m. Tuesday on the East Frontage Road, just south of Highway 20. Police say  24 year-old Yilian O. Castro-Cerrato lost control of her four-door Honda in the road’s gravel shoulder, overcorrected, and rolled the vehicle through a wood and wire fence into a highway sign.

Deputies and South Shore Firefighters were called to the scene and found Castro-Cerrato’s vehicle on its side wedged between two metal support poles for the highway sign. Firefighters worked to extricate the woman from her vehicle.

Castro-Cerrato was transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment. Deputies say she sustained bumps and bruises in the crash.
