Racine Man Killed in Nebraska Motorcycle Crash

A man from Racine died Saturday after a motorcycle accident in Nebraska, according to Nebraska State Patrol officials.

State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said 45 year-old Alfred Christian, of Racine, was pronounced dead at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff on Saturday.

Collins said that Christian was traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 near Sidney shortly after 12:30 p.m. on October 3 when the front tire of his Honda motorcycle went flat. Christian was trying to pass a semi tractor-trailer at the time, and lost control of the motorcycle, according to reports. Christian and his passenger, 49 year-old Nevada-resident Elise Hinton, were thrown from the motorcycle and sucked into the side of the semi, Collins said.

Hinton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Christian was transported to a a hospital in Sidney for treatment and later taken to Scottsbluff Medical Center where he died.

The Ohio man driving the tractor-trailer was not injured, Collins said.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and friends during this difficult time.
