Racine Cornfield Crash Still Under Investigation

Authorities in Racine are still investigating the cause of the crash that left a Burlington man stranded in a cornfield for more than three days.

Greg Kozinski was reported missing Monday morning. He was last seen at the Dover Inn on Beaumont Avenue at 1:00 a.m. Sunday. Family, friends, and authorities searched for Koznski until he and his Jeep Cherokee were found in a cornfield Wednesday morning. Deputies said Thursday it is unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the crash. Any evidence of intoxication would be gone after three days, officials said.

No charges have been filed against Kozinski. He suffered a broken pelvis in the crash and was transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment. A hospital spokesperson said he was in satisfactory condition Thursday afternoon.

It is unknown if Kozinski had been drinking before his disappearance on Sunday.
